The protest comes amid increasing international calls for a ceasefire and pressure on Western governments to reconsider their stance on Palestinian statehood. Despite this, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp reaffirms during the session that the Netherlands is not planning to recognize a Palestinian state at this time.
